Atomizer Failure

The atomizer or atty is the part of the electronic cigarette that heats up the flavor/nicotine liquid, turning it into an inhalable vapor.

The atomizer or atty is also the weakest part of the electronic cigarette, because both the cart and the battery affect its performance and life cycle.

A dirty cart, or an e-juice with a thicker viscosity can “gunk” up the heating coil of the atomizer, rendering it.useless. A battery, which overheats an atomizer can cause the heating coil to snap and fail.

A week of regular use can cause significant build up around the heating coil, diminishing the performance of your atomizer. And some people recommend replacing your atomizer weekly.

However, enough people get several months worth of effective use out of their atomizers, that the question of the real life cycle of an atomizer is called into question.

Heavy users of electronic cigarettes say atomizers should last for 5,000 puffs.

So, if you are blowing through atomizers at a faster rate than every 2-3 weeks to a month, you need to determine what’s causing your atomizer to blow up prematurely.

If your battery is overheating, chances are it will take out your atomizer. If the battery cylinder is hot every time you use it, you should replace it.

If after replacing your battery, you still have atomizers that are failing at a high rate, go back factory-manufactured juice and stop using DIY e-liquid.
